Matt Parziale at the Masters has Brockton Buzzing Again

This week for Brocktonians has been arguably the most exciting week since the glorious 80’s, when my friend #Marvelousmarvinhagler was the talk of the town. No matter where you were, #Capecodcafe#christo‘s, #georgescafe or #tuxedosbymerian the topic would be about WAR and epic 3 round fight with #tommyhearns and Haglers unforgetable knockout in the third round.

The Superfight with #sugarrayleonard and the controversial decision to Leonard which 31 years later, this week, remains a topic for discussion around the world. For the record there is no controversy here. The Marvelous one was the victor on that April night in Las Vegas and the boxing world was never the same because of that bogus call. How about the 15 round thriller with#robertoduran with #handsofstone or the incredible knock out #alanminter that finally gave Marvin the Middleweight crown?

Yes, it was an incredible time to live in Brockton. Well this week was a flashback to yesterday for yours truly because another hometown hero, #mattparziale, a blue collar firefighter and regular guy, with a passion and drive so incredible (sound familiar?), achieved almost the impossible dream by qualifying and this week playing in #themasters is responsible for a buzz reminiscent of those wonderful 80’s.

The news media has been covering Matt since early this year and this week he is living a lifelong dream. The City is buzzing with positive energy. Last night at Brockton High School, world renown composer #randyklein who has written a musical composition titled #brockton was performed by Macrina’s incredible advanced concert band. Thanks to a vision by Amy Korim and support by the Brockton Rotary the music came to life by these talented students of our incredible city of champions.

Conversations are a buzz with #mattparziale playing a practice round with #tigerwoods and #fredcouples with the music of #randyklein complimenting our great city people are talking with a vibrant beat.

Thanks to Steve Damish for recognizing Brockton’s Champions and writing #theenterprise article about Matt.
